Manager – Fire & Engineering Underwriting

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team as Manager – Fire & Engineering Underwriting in our Pak-Qatar General Takaful Fire department for evaluating, analyze the risk and benchmarking fire risk and fire protection levels.

Qualification & Experience Required

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the Takaful/Insurance industry, with a focus on fire & engineering underwriting
  • Professional certification i.e., Cert-CII preferable.

 

Skills Required

  • In-depth knowledge of fire & engineering takaful products and underwriting principles
  • Diligent, organized, and adept at prioritizing tasks
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

 

Job Role

 

  • Supervise Fire & Engineering underwriting
    • Review and evaluate fire & engineering quotation requests submitted by agents, brokers, or existing clients
  • Implement underwriting strategies for fire & engineering takaful to achieve business objectives.
    • Gather and analyze information such as property location, occupancy, and fire protection measures from the prospect client
    • Determine the terms and conditions of fire & engineering insurance policies, including coverage limits, deductibles, and contribution rates
  • Ensure underwriting practices comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Timely coordination with the branch / agents related to Renewal / Cover Notes materialization
    • Assist in resolving issues related to policy underwriting and coverage
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and sales, to ensure a seamless customer experience
    • Work closely with the underwriting team to share insights and best practices
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on claims performance and issues
  • Any other work assigned by the reporting authority
